Virtix Health partners with health plans across the country to drive clinical, financial and operational results and was selected for its expertise in clinical data acquisition, coding accuracy and compliance frameworks.
Our technology supports the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and their goals of timely, accurate determination grounded in high-quality data, with all operations meeting HITRUST security and privacy standards. Through the Wasteful and Inappropriate Service Reduction (WISeR) initiative, our program is designed to combine cutting-edge intelligent technology with a comprehensive team of highly experienced physicians to validate determinations and conduct complex medical reviews.
The WISeR Model pilot program will run for six years, beginning January 5, 2026 through December 31, 2031. Virtix Health will serve as the Noridian JF Part A and Part B MAC jurisdiction for the State of Washington.
How Virtix Health Can Help Washington Providers and Suppliers
Providers and suppliers may request prior authorization and pre-payment medical review by using the designated Virtix Health WISeR Provider Portal.
The 13 Specific Procedures
Virtix Health’s role is restricted to Washington State and limited to 13 specific procedures that have been pre-determined. These procedures have been identified as high risk for fraud, waste, and abuse. The list of services include:
- Percutaneous Image-Guided Lumbar Decompression for Spinal Stenosis
- Arthroscopic Lavage and Arthroscopic Debridement for the Osteoarthritic Knee
- Induced Lesions of Nerve Tracts
- Vagus Nerve Stimulation
- Phrenic Nerve Stimulator
- Electrical Nerve Stimulators
- Incontinence Control Devices
- Sacral Nerve Stimulation for Urinary Incontinence
- Diagnosis and Treatment of Impotence
- Percutaneous Vertebral Augmentation for Vertebral Compression Fracture
- Epidural Steroid Injections for Pain Management
- Cervical Fusion
- Hypoglossal Nerve Stimulation for the Treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea
